The night prior to this encounter I was reading the foreword to a book called “The Heart’s Code” (Paul Pearsall). It talks of the heart’s intelligence; the excerpt, which marked me most was of the heart’s biophysical energy and information that is released with every single one of its beats.
“What happens to that electromagnetic energy once it ripples through our body and reaches outside of the skin?”
“No, it does not cease to exist, it does not just disappear” they said.
Rather- and this sounded so beautiful to me in its logic and the imagery it conjured- “it reaches our loved ones […], extends to the sky, and yes, […], the electromagnetic fields expand into the “vacuum” of space at the speed of light, 186,000 miles per second. […] each second after our heart beats our individual heart’s code has expanded and traveled 186,000 miles into space.”
Another source went on to add that very literally, this meant that all of us were immersed in each other’s electromagnetic heart bubble. Our hearts are “conversing” and resonating with one another all the time.
Simple logic, basic physics…and yet, how unaware most of us are of this!
When we refine our vibration, would we then become more receptive and sensitive to the underlying forces, which make up the physical world…this visible world of form which we regarded as the only existing “reality” until just recently?
I was reminded of a text I’d written about 3 years ago, an encounter with a sleeping whale with her calf. I had been in water a few thousand feet deep. When I’d first slipped in, I’d seen nothing but blue space; but after a minute or so, once the mind had quieted itself, I’d sensed a presence, yet unseen by the eye, that my body received as a subtle signal. I’d described it as a quiet but powerful “pulse”, and if my memory is correct I remember intuitively following the pulse to its emitter, whereupon I’d found the sleeping pair.
I could not say for certain whether the signal I’d sensed was the actual pulsing of their hearts…perhaps so, the correlation between the different elements, the book, my own text and the present encounter, which I will now describe, was intriguing and synchronistic.
To resume my story, this particular encounter took place after a good night’s sleep assimilating this information on the “heart’s code”. I’d gone out to sea feeling light and open, continuing to reflect on this new awareness and focusing from time to time on my heart (which, frankly, I don’t ever remember doing quite so consciously.)
The whales were literally everywhere. As it got later in the morning, we would see a blow, a fluke or a breach, singly or regrouped, every 5 minutes or so. We put the hydrophone in, and a booming chorus of whales (5 at least were singing at once) came rippling out of our tiny speaker.
The dolphins brought us to the whales; I was swimming with them, when the three humpbacks emerged like apparitions. I cannot recall the exact sequence in which it all happened. The image (and the physical sensation) I remember vividly is the sight of the three whales 40 ft below me. I laid still at the surface, eyes- my whole being, should I say- transfixed to their massive silhouettes. It was a congregation of sorts; I remained with them for about 5 minutes, a silent witness of their spontaneous choreography: intermingling their 40-ft bodies with measured grace, rubbing heads and joining pectoral fins.
One whale would rise closer to the surface than the others, its piercing glance embracing me at regular intervals and acknowledging my presence. Its companions eventually left to continue on with their cavorting, I heard the explosion of their breaths rippling across the surface, a trumpeting call but he (she?) stayed back.
It was quite amazing and unexpected. He was still 40 ft below me in repose as if in quiet meditation. This was when I was reminded of the pulse. A 40 ft body, a heart nearly 6 ft wide (according to some data from Cornell University) averaging 30 beats/minute. A strong, grounded pulse sending energy at extraordinary speed, first rippling through the water engulfing me and then onto…the stars in the matter of a second?
The whale had an otherworldly presence; a palpable, radiating vibrancy in his stillness. After a few minutes being with him, he began to resemble a space ship of sorts, a dimension of its own emitting a frequency that felt too ethereal for our world.
“Like star codes whose energy and information travel through space forever […] so too, logically, does our heart’s code- the largest source of biophysical energy in the body- travel through space forever.” (“The Heart’s Code”.)
The whale’s heart beat, my heart beat, a signal emitted from water to cosmos. Being with the whale during these long minutes, observing and sensing him, this idea was not outlandish at all. Simple physics, our biophysical energy, who we are, extends far beyond our physical bodies, travels in and to infinity.
And then one might wonder…as all those signals resonate and extend onto space, who might be on the receiving end?
