As a "general" rule, it seems that children and dolphins have a great affinity for one another...
In truth, age non withstanding, and in my experience, communication with the dolphins happens very tangibly through a resonance of energies.
Yesterday, the sweetest little girls- 6 & 7- came out on the boat.
This turned out to be a great work out session for me as well, dragging or pushing the girls on a bogie board for quite some time...!
Children are still so connected; most of the time, they seem to go giggling through life from one moment to the next, taking in everything with a contagious openness and fascination.
Well, at least, that is how those two girls were...the youngest in particular.
She sat on the bogie board, a little unsure and unstable to begin with, taken aback by the dolphins, which came straight for us as soon as we slipped in the water: three of them were advancing very rapidly, as they spun and jumped away in big splashes just a few feet away.
It was quite the dynamic welcome.
Past the first surprise effect, she sat astride the bogie board with a sweet smirk on her face, as if ready to take on anything.
And did the dolphins like that...!
I had never seen them coming quite so close to the bogie board before; they came around it, one after another, almost rubbing up against it...almost...
More than once, we got their spouts on our faces; and had she reached it out, she could have very easily touched them...although she never did (because I always advise everyone not to do so.)
A few times, one would "spy-hop" (surfacing vertically, to check us out), others slowed way down, nearly stopped, gently twisting and turning their bodies around so as not to hit the board.
They were playing the leaf game; one of the dolphins, which was dragging one on its pectoral fin, dropped it right in front of us, and the little girl picked it up in delight, waiving it the air.
The dolphins were so amazingly accommodating, very in tune with the girl's energy.
And this went on for a least ten minutes, as we laughed, and laughed and greeted the dolphins, and they laughed back in their own way...
Such a powerful resonance!!
Earlier in the day, she had told me:
"I was so excited at the thought of meeting the dolphins, I could not sleep!
I want to become a dolphin today..."
And so she did...
It would have not looked out of place to see her grab on to their dorsal fin and take off with them.
